Implement Traffic Guidance Schemes 30864QLD
The Traffic Management (Level 2 MUTCD) Training Course is targeted at persons required to implement a Traffic Management Plan (TMP).
Many candidates will not require training beyond this level.
TMR also administers the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Part 3 “Works on Roads” of the MUTCD sets out principles for the development, installation and operation of traffic guidance schemes.
Traffic Management (Level 2 MUTCD) Training Course Content:
• Legislation & responsibilities
• Definitions related to roadwork signing
• Identifying traffic control devices and their functions
• Implementing traffic guidance schemes
• Record keeping
Upon completion of the Traffic Management (Level 2 MUTCD) Training Course, participants will be able to:
• Interpret & apply the minimum principles of the MUTCD (Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices)
• Apply a Traffic Management Plan
• Place and remove site signage safely & effectively as per approved traffic guidance scheme
• Monitor effectiveness of work site signage and traffic flow; and
• Record incidents and details of roadwork signage
Traffic Management (Level 2 MUTCD) Training Course Theoretical Assessment consists of:
An open book written assessment that focuses on the participant’s ability to read and interpret the Part 3 Works on Roads manual.
Participants who score low in the assessment will require re-training before re-assessment.
Because of the assessment requirements, participants MUST have sound literacy/numeracy skills.
All Candidates’ who successfully complete the theory component of the Traffic Management course will receive a ‘Statement of Attendance’.
Traffic Management (Level 2 MUTCD) Training Course Practical Assessment consists of:
Evidence of the practical application of the implementation of Traffic Guidance Schemes – 30864QLD on 3 different sites of varying complexity (completed on a live jobsite, within 6 months of course).
Candidates will be issued with the relevant documentation, which includes third party report verifications (that need to be signed by the worksite supervisor), and traffic management log sheets that must be signed by a competent level 2, 3 or 4.
Candidates who achieve competence will be issued with a ‘Statement of Attainment’ and a wallet sized ID card for 30864QLD – Implement Traffic Guidance Schemes.
This unit is based on the training requirements for the Traffic Management for Construction or Maintenance Work Code of Practice 2008 for persons who are required to implement a traffic guidance scheme for the advanced application of the MUTCD Part 3.

Traffic Management (Level 2 MUTCD) Course Cost: $350 per person
Traffic Management (Level 2 MUTCD) REFRESHER Course Cost: $250 per person
Onsite group bookings can also be arranged by request for the Traffic Management (Level 2 MUTCD) Training Course. Onsite bookings are subject to numbers or by prior arrangement. The client will be required to arrange a suitable training room.
